Joseph T. Liberatore - Esquire
Joseph T. Liberatore joined the firm in 1990. He has concentrated on debtor representation in workouts, bankruptcy reorganizations, tax workouts, and other insolvency-related areas.
Prior to entering private practice, Joseph served as the judicial clerk for the Honorable Hal J. Bonney, Jr., former judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He received his Juris Doctorate in 1987 from Regent University School of Law, a Masters in Business Administration in 1990 also from Regent University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, in 1983, from Oral Roberts University.
Joseph gained admission to the Oklahoma State Bar Association in 1987 and the Virginia State Bar Association in 1991. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Tidewater Bankruptcy Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before the Virginia Supreme Court, the federal district courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Eastern District of Virginia; the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Joseph has served as Adjunct Professor at Regent University School of Law for eight years, teaching classes in bankruptcy law and the Uniform Commercial Code.
He resides in Chesapeake, Virginia, with his wife, Cheryl, and their three children. He has coached numerous youth sports teams and presently serves as Board Director and Chairman of the StoneBridge School and the Ukraine Children’s Project.
